4. Accommodations or amenities provided in a nursing home

Will my loved one have a private room or how many roommates will they have?

We do have some private rooms in our facilities, however many of our rooms are shared by two or more residents. We want the best for your loved one and do our utmost to match them with someone with like interests, capabilities and daily routines.

You can bring personal items to make the room comfortable and homelike. Each resident’s bed has a cubicle curtain that is pulled for privacy. Each bed is equipped with a call light that lights up inside and at the nurses’ station.

Do you have temperature controls in each room?

All of our facilities have specific guidelines for temperatures that must be maintained in residents’ rooms and in the facility in general. Generally, we keep the facilities on the warmer side, given that our residents tend to be sensitive to cooler temperatures. If your family member wishes to be a little cooler, you may want to check with the individual facility about bringing in a portable fan. If your loved one likes to be a little warmer in the winter, you might want to bring an additional quilt or comforter to add to their bedding.
